Greetings once again, in the name of my master, to all my brothers and sisters at Glossbrenner. With so much going on in this world and so much at stake in November, I just thought I’d give you a little food for thought on Thanksgiving… from people wiser than me.
If a fellow isn’t thankful for what he’s got, he isn’t likely to be thankful for what he’s going
to get. – Frank A. Clark
He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things he has not,
but rejoices for those which he has. – Epictetus
Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns;
I am thankful that thorns have roses. – Alphonse Karr
Gratitude is a currency that we can mint ourselves, and spend
without fear of bankruptcy. – Fred De Witt Van Amburgh
The way to develop the best in a person is by appreciation and
encouragement. – Charles Schwab
Gratitude is riches. Complaint is poverty. – Doris Day
When a person doesn’t have gratitude, something is missing in
his or her humanity. – Elie Wiesel
Whatever comes your way this season, may God grant you the contentment of gratitude. May we truly be grateful that we can have a place in eternity with God. Whether it is Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas or whatever; we are Easter People!
In His Service… Pastor Brian
